The AMS Aluminium Machinery Solutions team recently returned from Australian Manufacturing Week (AMW) 2025 in Melbourne, where we, along with representatives from long-time partner Pertici Industries, showcased their latest machinery. It was an opportunity to connect with fabricators, provide hands-on experience with Pertici software, share practical demonstrations, and prove the precision and versatility of Pertici technology.

We have served the Australian aluminium industry for 39 years, with 25 years of partnership with Pertici. Our relationship is built on shared values: durable machinery, straightforward support, and a practical understanding of how fabrication happens on the workshop floor.

First Look at the Pertici P527 in Australia

This event marked the first time the Pertici P527 Premium was demonstrated in Australia. As a 5-axis CNC machine, it attracted attention throughout the event, particularly during live demonstrations that showed how it can process complex cuts across multiple planes in a single setup.

We received enquiries from fabricators who work with cutting custom designs into aluminium profiles, such as curtain wall nodes, a multi-angled joint that supports cladding panels on modern facades. Traditionally, multiple cuts and angles were required, and only a 5-axis machine could manage them without repositioning the profile. With the P527, this level of intricacy becomes streamlined and repeatable, delivering both accuracy and time savings.

Alongside the P527, the Pertici P104 was also on display, with attendees encouraged to try the PCAM software. This hands-on interaction allowed visitors to explore the machine’s workflow and see how job simulations and programming are handled directly at the control panel.

Experience Matters

One of the most valued parts of the event was the team’s ability to answer technical questions and advise the wide range of attendees from all different manufacturing industries.

Danny and Josh Laycock, who have worked together for over 25 years with Pertici equipment, were also available to demonstrate the machines, explain application benefits, and share advice based on years of industry experience.

Steave, AMS’s specialist technician, worked alongside Mateo, a mechanical engineer from Pertici, to discuss performance, maintenance, and real-world operating conditions. Mateo also demonstrated his expertise with PCAM software, guiding visitors through its capabilities and showing how it supports precision, efficiency, and ease of use.

Nicoletta from Pertici shared insights into the company’s history and technological development. Drawing on more than thirty years in the business, she provided real-world examples of how Pertici machinery has helped workshops worldwide streamline operations and improve quality and scale. Also representing AMS was Loretta, our office manager, who played a pivotal role in coordinating AMS’s participation at AMW. From logistics and planning to ensuring everything ran smoothly on the ground, Loretta’s work behind the scenes was instrumental in bringing the AMS and Pertici teams together for the event.

Looking Ahead

AMW 2025 provided a valuable opportunity to have direct conversations with fabricators, demonstrate real-world capabilities, and hear firsthand what the manufacturing industry is looking for. The interest in advanced multi-axis machining, automation and accessible, well-supported technology was clear.

As we continue supporting Australian workshops with reliable equipment and local expertise, we’re already preparing for AMW 2026 in Brisbane. We look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new operators and business owners, and showcasing further developments in the Pertici range.

Thank you to everyone who visited the AMS stand. It was a pleasure speaking with you and helping you with aluminium-cutting machinery solutions.
