This month, AMS Aluminium Machinery Solutions celebrates two years under its new name. More than that, we mark over 40 years of industry experience passed down through generations. What began as Luna Machinery Queensland in 1985 has grown into a national supplier of aluminium fabrication solutions, trusted by manufacturers across Australia. While the branding has evolved, the people, values and service remain the same.
From the Shed to the Shop Floor
The AMS story is, at its heart, a family story. Long before the AMS name came into being, brothers Dany and Josh were already immersed in the aluminium machinery world. Their father Brian founded Luna Machinery Queensland, and the workshop quickly became their second home. As kids, they played small roles around the workshop, helping out with basic tasks and observing how things operated.
After finishing school, both brothers tried out other paths in sales and hospitality. But they eventually returned to what felt most familiar. With years of hands-on experience already behind them, they stepped into full-time roles, gradually taking on more responsibility and shaping the direction of the business. What started in a humble tin shed slowly grew into a well-recognised name in the industry.
Why the Change to AMS?
In 2023, Dany and Josh launched AMS, Aluminium Machinery Solutions, to reflect their commitment to innovation, service and long-term growth. The change was not about leaving Luna behind. It was about building on its legacy while positioning the business to better serve the needs of modern fabricators. The AMS name represents a practical and forward-thinking approach to aluminium manufacturing.
AMS remains a proudly family-run operation. It continues to be guided by the same values that shaped Luna Machinery: a hands-on approach, deep technical knowledge and a genuine commitment to helping customers succeed.
A Milestone Worth Remembering
A standout moment for the team was their participation in the Australian Manufacturing Week exhibition in May 2025. It was AMS’s most ambitious display yet. The event provided an opportunity to showcase the full scope of machinery, solutions and service offerings. It was also a proud reminder of how far the business has come.

Today, AMS is working to expand its CNC machinery range across Australia. The team is focused on supporting fabricators with responsive service, honest guidance and solutions that are built to last.
